I’ve been invited to give a presentation of my work, during the annual symposium of the Dutch Microbiology Society, which will take place at CBS (Fungal Biodiversity Center), Uppsalalaan 8, Utrecht, The Netherlands.

On December 8th the ceremony took place at Naturalis, Leiden, and I'm very happy to announce I ended up being one of the three winners of the award with my project proposal, titled ‘System Synthetics’.
It’s a very exciting opportunity and I'm looking forward to take
the next steps in the research and realization of this project.
The final outcome will be exhibited, starting in mid-June until the end of
December 2011, at Naturalis, the dutch Natural History museum in Leiden.

I’ll be giving a presentation about ‘System Synthetics’ and ‘Continuous Bodies’
at the 8th Symposium of the Kluyver Centre for Industrial Fermentation (25-27 Jan)
in Noordwijkerhout (NH Leeuwenhorst), during the session ‘Conversion of Complex Substrates’; following I’ll be purposing a public discussion about the role of design
and the arts in relation to genomics.

‘The Ephemeral Icon’ will be on show within the exhibition iFABRIC - EUROPEAN TALENT. The show, curated by Suzan Rüsseler, will take place at the Textiel Museum, Tilburg (NL). Download the flyer here.
Triennale Design Museum presents O’clock - Design del Tempo, Tempo del Design, a big exhibition which will try to explore the relationships between time and design.
The show is curated by Silvana Annicchiarico, Jan van Rossem and Patricia Urquiola.

After winning the first phase of the contest, seeking proposals for the development of the Plenkertstraat area in Valkenburg, near Maastricht (NL), during the last few month I’ve been working on the refinement of my proposal; it consists of four steps, through which a former brewery site will be requalified into a food-community center (slow-food) and creative spaces for local and international artists. The final result will be presented on December 19th to the municipality, the citizenzs and some potential interested investors. More info about the project will be published soon.
A two day workshop, organized by FoAM Brussels, in collaboration with various artists and designers, with the objective of studying the interaction between fungi and elctro-magnetic invisible radiations. I’ve been re-exploring my ‘Bodies of Change’ installation (first chapter of “Continuous Bodies”), as part of the Paddestoelen Paradijs exhibition, currently taking place @ Mediamatic, Amsterdam. The work consists of a growing ecosystem in which specific fungi act as main decomposers, in the study and development of a novel burial practice, aiming to re-connect us with Natural Cycles.
